The case for free ("free" as in freedom) software is stronger than ever. GNU/Linux has been wildly successful in the server market. Free desktop operating systems like Ubuntu and other GNU/Linux distributions provide rich end-user experiences -- on par or better than proprietary rivals in many respects. Yet the uptake of using GNU/Linux as an end-user (desktop/laptop) operating system still lags. Our group aims to end that by:

  • Creating a community of free desktop enthusiasts.
  • Providing a venue where GNU/Linux questions may be asked by users of all levels.
  • Fostering free software evangelism. Let's spread the word!

Everyone is welcome! You don't need to be a techie or have prior experience. This is a social movement as much as a technological one. Join us!
